Michele Koscinski has been a music educator for twenty nine years and has been the band director at Woodland Middle School since 2002.  During her tenure at Woodland Middle School, the band has earned Superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations and Concert Festivals.   Each year the Band has students who earn chairs in the District and State Level Honor Bands. 

 

While a student at Cartersville High School, Mrs. Koscinski studied clarinet with Robert Pierce and participated in Georgia’s District Honor Band, All-State Band and Governor’s Honors Program.  Mrs. Koscinski then studied with Dr. Lynn Musco and earned her Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Stetson University.   Mrs. Gaspardo then earned her Masters and Educational Specialist degrees from Nova Southeastern University with a concentration in teaching and learning.

 

Mrs. Koscinski is a member of GMEA, which she has served in many capacities.  She has been the secretary for District VII and has hosted Honor Band and First Round All-State auditions for many years.  Also, she has hosted LGPE.  Mrs. Koscinski’s other professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, Phi Beta Mu, Music Educators National Conference, and Professional Association of Georgia Educators.  She has been a Scoring Supervisor for Pearson where she scores portfolios for the EdTPA program for student teachers across the country.

 

Mrs. Koscinski has two children, David (27) and Georgia Ann (24).  Both children played under Mrs. Koscinski in the Woodland Middle School Band program.  David is served our country in the United States Air Force and is currently a student at KSU and Georgia Ann is an ELA Teacher at Cass Middle School.
